Jewelry is in the fashion from ancient times. The first jewelry was made of bones and animal teeth and dates back to the Stone Age. Jewelry of gold, copper and silver are in the trend from the ancient civilizations of the Aztec's, Egyptians and Romans. The word Jewelry is derived from the Latin word jocale, meaning "plaything," and the word jewel, which was anglicised in the 13th century from the Old French word jouel.

Jewelry has been made of many kinds of organic and inorganic materials such as hair, feathers, leather, scales, bones, shells, wood, ceramics, metals and minerals. But today when most people refer to jewelry, we refer to precious or semiprecious stones fixed in attractive metals such as gold, silver, platinum, copper and brass. Gold of course being the favorite.
